Shoo-fly how the week went by!

Thanks for all the well wishes about my headache yesterday! You guys are so sweet, even when I’m a whiny baby!

Today has been much better! My roommate’s cousin stayed over last night, so I didn’t make a green monster because I didn’t think she would appreciate the noise. Instead I enjoyed this meal, which was Friday Breakfast on Thursday.

The main dish of the day was quiche with sausage, so I had two large slices of that concoction, which is known as Shoo-fly pie. Has anyone ever had this? It’s made with molasses and brown sugar and isn’t very sweet, but it’s quite tasty. It was also surprisingly filling. It may have just been the lingering effects of yesterday’s headache, but I didn’t even think about lunch until almost 1 p.m. – highly unusual for this belly.

I went to Wal-Mart (AGAIN!) during the lunch hour, but this time to pick up mostly non-food items. I needed some more Melatonin, which I take to help me sleep (might just be a placebo, but whatevs). I also bought some folic acid because I hear it’s super important for us gals to take. I’m going to do a bit of research though before I actually start taking it. Does anyone take a folic acid supplement?

I also got some larabars, a couple of new bars, two mags, and some advil – in case you were curious.

Then I came back and ate my last serving of quinoa risotto. Still good, but maybe a little less so than last time.

DSCF1504Clearly the photog side of my brain is still damaged from yesterday. I’m expecting a full recovery though.

I had two juicy plums (eaten the old fashioned way, sans slicing) as an afternoon snacker. They dribbled everywhere and it was glorious.

I really thought the day was going to drag by, but I kept myself busy and it wasn’t that bad at all! Before I knew it, work was over and I was headed out to enjoy the weekend!

But first I had some business to take care of. I stopped by the bank, and then ran home to meet my SIL to look at her wedding pictures!!! I may have teared up a little. I’m just so happy my Bro is happy! Sap sap sap, sorry. Then I threw on my workout clothes, stopped by the leasing office and paid my rent (I had a CREDIT and had to pay less rent than usual, how’s that for some good news?!), and walked over to the gym for my 1.5 mile run.  

I had to rush home and clean the apartment and get ready for tonight, which is what I’m doing now. My friend is working downtown all day and is going to come over here and get ready. We’re going out for some tapas, drinks, and fireworks. Can’t wait!

  1. tapas? Oh, I’m jealous. I hope you enjoy yourself!:D
    I don’t really take supplements, because I’m not so sure they are as effective as getting it from whole foods…
