Indian Food 101

I couldn’t wait to get off work today so I could go buy food! I was ridiculously excited about it, actually. I decided on what I want to make for the office breakfast friday, and found some recipes to make this week. I love having a plan when I go shopping!

I still prepared myself for a pretty expensive trip though, because it had been so long since I’d gone with an actual list. I was right, it was a big price tag! At least I shouldn’t have to go back a million times this week. I’ll probably go at least once though, haha! I’ll try to do a post tomorrow about my loot.

After I got back, I immediately rinsed these off and shoved a couple dozen of them into my mouth (one at a time of course).

I changed and walked over to the gym to do my run. I didn’t really want to run two days in a row, but I needed to get back on schedule. This was my first time running 2 miles without stopping, and my knees are feeling it! I hope they calm down before Thursday.

Dinner tonight was a new recipe from this cookbook:

I made Tandoori Chickpeas, and I loved it.

Of course, it was far from authentic Indian food, but it was still really tasty and super easy! Just a note: I don’t eat a “low fat” diet, I just bought that cookbook because I found it used on Amazon for supah cheap. It’s got a lot of really good recipes in it, if you’re not looking to cook gourmet meals every night. I’m still a beginner cook for sure!

What level of cook do you think you are? Do you follow recipes or make meals up as you go?

Which wich?

Wow! Today has started off infinitely better than yesterday. Actually, that’s not completely true. For the past two mornings I have been awakened by terrible, terrible nightmares about 20 minutes before my alarms start going off. I tend to have pretty unpleasant dreams in general (does that say something about me?) but these cause me immobilizing fear. It’s strange. Anyways, other than that, my morning has been care-free and lovely.

Breakfast was the old standby. Nothing new to report there. Work was also pretty average.

For lunch, I wanted to go to Panera with all that was in my soul, but I refrained so that I could save some dollas and blog. Plus, I needed to go to the bank.

I couldn’t decide if I wanted a cheese sandwich, or a PB&J, so I had both. Danger? I laugh in the face of danger, hahahaha. (Name that movie!) So, I used two slices of Ezekiel to make two half sammies.

One was made with a slice of 2% American cheese (I’m fancy, huh?) and the other with Smart Balance peanut butter and blackberry preserves. It was no Panera, but it was still good. Really good, actually.

I wasn’t quite satisfied after that, and since I have nil fruit in the house, I had a small glass of cranberry juice.

I love cranberry juice, especially because I hardly ever get whole cranberries in my diet and there are all kinds of goodies in the c-berry.

Alright, back to work I go!
