Wooosah…

Today has randomly been really stressful. It’s odd because I really don’t have that much to be stressed about, but I just got all up in my own head and had a tizzy. I couldn’t focus, every time I had one thought in my head another one would jam it’s way in and I would forget what I was originally thinking about.

I think the main cause of it is the fact that I have to be at a conference for my work super early tomorrow and it’s going to be one of those days where I’m going non-stop (in heels, no less) with absolutely no control of what is going on around me.

So, I just had to take a step back and realize that it’s all going to be okay. In 24 hours it will be over and done with and I will be getting excited for dinner and drinks for the roommate’s 23rd birthday. Woosah… I feel better.

That being said, I won’t be able to blog again until tomorrow night (hopefully, maybe not until Friday morning!) and I’ll be MIA comment-wise for the day. Sorry!

Other than the stress, today was rather ordinary at work. I ate half of this bar

and all of this peach

throughout the afternoon.

I ate the rest of the bar on the way to my hair appointment right after work. Nothing exciting to report on the hair front. I only get trims. No color, not crazy wacking of the length. Yawn, I know.

After the hair appointment I ran a few errands and then headed home to make dinner!

Even though I don’t like repeating meals too often, I could not say no to my leftover burrito filling. I needed it in my life, stat. It may have been even more delicious tonight.

I also had some steamed broccoli with a smidgeon of shredded cheese and a dollop of salsa.

And I paired all that with a sip of red wine, because it went well with the meal.

Just kidding, I have no clue how to pair wines, but I had like an ounce of the wine left so I just went with it.

I had planned on doing some light cardio at the gym tonight, but decided to forego that so I could tackle my to-do list and calm my frazzled nerves.

On said To-Do list:

  • Finish laundry
  • Sweep bathroom floor
  • Take out trash
  • Pick out outfit for conference (so I’m not late!)
  • Unload dishwasher
  • Do Tone Up Challenge moves
  • Wrap roommate’s birthday gift (aka put it in a cute bag)
  • Pack lunch and snacks for tomorrow

Look how cute Roommate’s present is!

Happy Birthday Roommate! :)

Since I won’t be posting regularly tomorrow, here are my eats for tomorrow.

A (Naturally More) peanut butter and (apricot) jelly sando.

This is going to be my first time trying this EarthGrains bread, so I’m excited about this sandwich.

I also packed an Apple Pie Larabar, an apple, and some crackers.

DSC_0143

The crackers are a new variety I bought when I went grocery shopping on Tuesday.

DSC_0138

Of course I had to sample them + some Sabra.

They were quite delish with the hummus, but I’m not sure I like them plain. The flavor is a little strong for me.

Well, if you noticed, there is one item missing from my to-do list so I’m going to go take care of that while watching total awkwardness on the Real Word. Blech… Goodnight!!

Pancakes Cubed

This morning FLEW by. I have so many things going on at work and in my head that I never even looked at the clock. It was lunchtime before I knew it.

I really really wanted another burrito, but I had two more pancakes from the other night that I needed to use. Yes, this is the third time pancakes have been featured this week – and it’s only Wednesday! I think I will take a pancake breather after today.

Today I made a pancake sandwich!

I scrambled one egg and one egg white with some halved cherry tomatoes. The bottom pancake was topped with a thin layer of cottage chese, then I dumped the eggs on top and covered it with the remaining pancake.

DSC_0124

Definitely a filling lunch, and it tasted great. Nothing like a plantain burrito would have, but still good. I’m glad the pancakes didn’t go to waste!

I tried to get a whole bunch of stuff done this morning and during lunch, but my list is still so long! I managed to get my clothes out of the dryer and folded this morning, but didn’t get them put away. I was supposed to do my Tone Up Challenge moves this morning and at lunch, but I only got the leg work done. There’s just not enough time! I may have to skip my cardio tonight to get some stuff done.

Do you work a standard 8 to 5 job, or do you have more lenient hours? What do you like/dislike about your work schedule?

I wish I worked from home, or had a job where I controlled my hours. Spending eight hours everday behind a desk makes it so hard to keep up with everything!

Liquid Dreams

My run went fairly well last night. Not that it was easy or anything, but I slowed my pace for the first 2 miles and then kicked up the speed for the last half mile. That really seemed to help me get through it. I probably won’t run again until Friday, so I can rest a little and hopefully I’ll be back in the zone by then.

I didn’t get home from the gym until 9 p.m. so I decided a post-run snack wasn’t really necessary. I just drank tons of water and called it good.

This morning I prepared another delicious fruity green tea.

DSC_0113

I only used peaches this time, because the pineapple made it almost too sweet yesterday.

And of course, I had the usual breakfast situation.

I find it completely bizzare that I don’t chew anything until noon every day. I used to work at a smoothie place and I never got full from smoothies. Who woulda thunkit?

What’s your favorite way to jazz up your tea or water?
