Thanks to K and Ellie, I think I have an idea what my eye pain is might be caused by – a stye! I don’t have the tell-tale bump that is typically associated with styes, but all the other symptoms fit. Plus, I am kind of bad about not taking off my mascara at night, tisk tisk, so it makes sense.
I’m going to try doing warm compresses at night for the next few days and see if that helps. Google advised that I not wear my contacts because it could spread the infection to the rest of my eye, but I can’t see without and them and my glasses are way too weak to be worn for much else besides walking from the bed to the toilet. So, I’ll have to hope for the best. Thanks for the advice girls!
The rumor was true… and I did indeed eat cake today. I don’t eat a lot of sweets in my day to day life, but before I enjoy a piece of office birthday cake I always ask myself these questions:
1. Am I really in the mood for a treat, or do I just want it because it’s there?
Yes I want it, I’m hormonal. Good enough reason for me.
2. Does the cake look good, or is there a chance it will be dry, tasteless or just not worth it?
It’s tres leche cake with strawberry topping. Um, hell yes it looks good.
So I ate a small piece and it was SOOOO good. Although I was confused as to why it was a tres leche cake with a non-dairy topping. Kind of counter-intuitive, no?
After cake I worked some more, and then met with my boss. It went really well! I feel a lot better about things now.
Before I left work, I had another Kashi Peanut Peanut butter bar.

I brought workout clothes so I could go straight to the gym, but as usual I forgot something so that plan fell through. I went home, changed, and walked to the gym. Which turned out great, because it was another semi-cool day and I enjoyed the time outside.
At the gym, I ran 3 miles on the treadmill even though I said I was going to lay off running. My legs felt okay so I went for it. I guess I’m just going to play it by ear right now. There was considerably more pain than there has been in previous weeks, but I pushed through it. It felt really good.
When I returned I showered and them assembled a super simple dinner. I knew I definitely wanted my other ear of corn.

I also needed to reunite with sweet potato fries.

And you know I can’t go very long without cottage cheese in my life.

It was definitely a hodge podge of foods, but it was sooooo good and exactly what I wanted.

TV watching for the night included parts of 90210 when I wasn’t in the kitchen and the end of The Biggest Loser. Damn, Jillian was dropping some major f-bombs! She must be mad that everyone is hatin’ on her for selling out
Oh my gosh, this season is SUCH a tear jerker. I am going to have to watch (when Idols not on) so I can watch Abby’s journey. What a strong woman!!
Okay… I’m off to take care of the eye, do some reading and get to bed. Night guys!
Do you wear contacts or glasses? Have perfect eye sight? Had Lasik?
I started wearing bottle-cap thick HUGE glasses in 1st grade until I got contacts in 6th grade. I can’t have Lasik due to my astigmatism (no clue how to spell that).
