What a day! After my lovely little trip, I returned to work and had perhaps the busiest day of work at my current job. There was a little office drama, which is very unusual for my company. But I may have been a blessing in disguise, because I was running on empty and may have fallen asleep otherwise!
I was too out of it this morning to make my usual smoothie, so I just grabbed a bar for breakfast.

There are a lot fewer calories in this bar than there usually are in my green monsters, so I got hungry pretty quickly. However, the loads of work I had to do did not allow me to break at my usual time today. I tried to ward off my hunger with an ugly honey crisp.

But by the time I finally got to grab lunch at 2 p.m. I was starving! I told my supervisor that I was taking a late lunch, and thankfully because the drama involved me this morning I got the okay out of pity
I zipped over to Panera and got a cup of black bean soup and half a mediterranean veggie sando (saved the apple for another day). Delicious of course.

But then I decided I needed coffee, and my coffee felt that it would be lonely without a scone. So I listened to my coffee’s demands, and ordered a cinnamon chip scone.

I’m not a huge cinnamon fan, and I hardly ever eat scones so I’m not sure what prompted me to order this. Um, it must have been the Scone Happiness Fairies, because this was one of the most amazing things that has ever passed my lips. It was not too sweet, but not bland, doughy but not sticky. And look at the cinnamon chips inside. YUM!

I brought workout clothes to work with me today, but it just wasn’t going to happen. After the 4 a.m. wake-up call on Saturday, the whirlwind weekend, the 4 hours of sleep last night and a stressful work day all I could think about was a bath. So that’s what I’m about to do. I also have to sprinkle some unpacking and laundry into the evening and figure out what in the hell I’m going to eat for dinner as I currently have zero appetite.
Have a good evening my dears!
Wow, I wish the Scone Happiness Fairies would come visit me!!!

I think you are the first food blogger to utter the words “I am not a huge cinnamon fan.” I did not know this!! That scone looooks delightful, nonetheless. And I hope your work drama wasn’t too intense! Have a great night!
Sarah – haha, I know I was totally thinking that when I wrote it.
Oh that scone!? It’s fabulous! I’m not kidding when I say I used to have two a week and that was restraint! Definitely take it easy tonight
I am a Panera-holic. I have had to separate myself from Panera for a good month so far because I was going there WAY too much. I agree that their cinnamon chip scone is out of this world. Now I want Panera… haha.
Yum! That scone looks SO good! And I adore Panera’s black bean soup!
