Ghouls Gone Wild

Hi guys! One more day of weekend bliss to enjoy, I hope you’re making the best of it!

Lunch yesterday was a K inspiration – Reese’s Oats.

I made some for Taylor too, but I don’t think she was that crazy about it. Some people just aren’t oat lovers I guess.

After oating, we watched The Sooners play, and at half time I cooked up some Chana Masala for dinner.

After The Sooners had won, we got ready and headed out to the Ghouls Gone Wild parade.

It was definitely a people-watching experience! It’s so fun to see your city transformed from what it is everyday to a festival with thousands of people crowding the streets. Of course, we had some beers.

The parade was hilarious. There were all kinds of floats, but it was definitely a PG-13 event (aka a stripper float) and I had to wonder why parents thought it was appropriate to bring their children to this particular parade. The grand finale was the main reason I went – the march of a thousand flaming skeletons.

After the skeletons passed by, Wayne Coyne from the Flaming Lips strolled by in his ball.

If you’ve ever been to a Lips concert you’ll recognize that bubble. Wayne is my hero.

After the parade was over, we got tacos from the Big Truck Taco truck. I’ve been wanting to try these tacos for a long time, so  I was pretty excited. I got a veggie taco and Taylor got a chicken one.

Taylor said her taco was the best thing she’d eaten all month. Mine was just okay. I was glad to get the food in my belly.

After the tacos, we watched the free concert that followed the parade. The first act was really good, but after that we got tired and headed home. It was a really fun time!

Today I’m having lunch with my Mom, brother and SIL to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. Have a great Sunday guys!
