Rubbing Elbows

Hey! Today was LONG, but I guess the bright side was that it was different than the average work day. Plus I got to be a lot more active and walk around more than usual.

Breakfast this morning was a bagel with cream cheese.

If that seems unhealthy to you, buckle your seat belts – it’s going to be a bumpy ride ;) I had several cups of coffee over the course of the day, which will probably result in me not being able to sleep tonight. Oops.

Me and my coworker split a brownie mid morning. They were at the booth right across from hours and the girl’s manning it kept asking us to take one like every 5 minutes. It was only a matter of time.

The rest of the pics are iPhone pics, so I apologize in advance. This trade show was pretty well set up and I think we made some good contacts. After a lot of schmoozing everyone filed into the keynote luncheon.

We started out with a salad.

I was planning to just make due with the meal and only eat the sides, but it was just a big ‘ol piece of chicken and some undercooked veggies.

The chicken actually looked pretty good, but I decided to go ahead and check to see if there was a vegetarian option. They did, and surprise, it was pasta.

This was actually incredible. I had tortellini at a fancy restaurant a couple days ago and it was terrible, but this was delicious. I was glad I asked for the veg plate.

But the food didn’t stop there my friends. I did balance it out by drinking several glasses of water over the course of they day.

At 4 p.m. there was an Exhibitor’s Reception with snacks and cocktails. I was going to skip it, but they had fruit! I had a small plate.

I had fruit, two cheese cubes and a piece of bruschetta. One of the older gentleman at the booth next door bought me a glass of wine.

I politely drank about 1/3 of the glass while we discussed college football. I can never pass up free wine or football banter.

When I got the cue that it was okay to go I was out like a flash! Overall it was an okay day, but there’s only so much rubbing elbows a gal can take in one day.

I have a lot to accomplish tonight! Gotta catch up on my reader, work out, and clean the apartment. I better hop to it!

Have a good night!

Good Morning! I am posting much earlier than usual today because I am heading out to the trade show and have to be there by 7 a.m. If you read regularly you probably could have guessed that I’m not feeling so hot right now. Ugh, mornings are not my thang.

I’m feeling a little better today though, but head is still full of snot. Sorry, my “is that appropriate filter” isn’t awake yet.

Last night for dinner I made split pea soup for the first time.

I really liked it! It was my first time eating split pea soup also and I was pleasantly surprised. It was National Split Pea week last week I think, so I’m a day late but never late than never!

Later on in the evening I had a mug of milk for “dessert”.

Those pictures were taken with my point and shoot, if it wasn’t obvious. I think the problem with my SLR is the memory card. Guess I’ll have to research prices on new ones.

This morning has been pretty routine – I got dressed in a blur and drank some coffee.

Now I’m off to the trade show!
