Black Friday

Hey! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving – or a great Thursday :) I really enjoyed the time with my family and all the food. Sadly, but not at all surprisingly, I didn’t really take any pics of the event. I was just too busy socializing, cooking and eating.

When we got to my Dad’s on Friday we immediately ate dinner. They had steak so I had a big baked potato, some tabouli and tossed salad.

For the rest of the evening we played Catch Phrase, Mad Gab, Guitar Hero and Wii. My shoulder is still sore from all the Wii action haha.

I slept like death that night because my Dad forgot to turn off the chiming clock in the living room where I was sleeping and it went off every 15 minutes. I was up at 6 a.m. so I decided to help get all the food cooked for the day. I made my breakfast – Orange Marmalade French Toast Casserole. It looked something like this.

Everyone liked it but I wasn’t really in the mood to eat much for breakfast. I was still a bit full from the night before I think. Instead I had some tabouli and a Diet Dr. Pepper. Typical Thanksgiving day breakfast, no?

After several hours of cooking, everyone started to arrive. It was a full house, we had over 30 people over. I think I kept myself pretty well in check for the food. I had tossed salad, tabouli, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and corn casserole. The only thing I had seconds of was the green bean casserole and I didn’t have dessert. I was still pretty full though!

After everyone started to filter out we headed over to my Mom’s to watch Christmas vacation and have “snacks”. She didn’t want us to have to suffer through another meal so she just set out a spread of homemade chex mix, baked brie and some brownies. I had quite a bit of chex mix and some baked brie with apple slices. It was the perfect amount of food.

Then we headed home. I was soooo tired when I got home. I slept like a BABAY. Upon waking today I felt like a million bucks. I was craving a workout, but I wasn’t quite ready to leave the house yet. So I did a little body sculpting with Gilad.

After toning my buns and thighs I had to have some of the whole wheat banana bread my Mom made me.

It was gooooood. After eating that I did something I never do – I shopped on Black Friday. I didn’t go for the sales, I just needed to get something to wear to a dinner thing I have tonight. It was pretty intense though. People are serious about those deals. The one line I had to stand in was enough for me!

I went straight to the gym from the mall and did 65 minutes on the elliptical. It. Was. Glorious. I needed a good sweat sesh.

I came home and ate a leftover baked ‘tater and some green beans. I have no food!

Then I got busy packing. I’ve gotten quite a bit done so far and I’m about to do a little more before I start getting ready for my dinner thing. Have a good rest of your day!

Did you shop for Black Friday?
