Bullets

Hello hello! I feel like I got a lot accomplished today, most of which was on the work front and would definitely not interest anyone here, but some of which was pretty fun! Presented to you in bullet form, I:

  • Did some undercover research for my Secret Bloggie Valentine. Lots of ideas compiled and some items purchased. Woo hoo!
  • Googled “How Many Times a Day Does the Average Person Pee” and found that the most common answer was four. I pee 4 time before I go to work in morning! Who are these people? Or, more importantly, why in the hell did I even just type all that?
  • Shopped at Target with some b-day gift cards. Free Target loot rules.
  • Ate a bite sized piece of chocolate cake.

  • Finished the last of my veggie paella! I’m making a new recipe tonight, so I’ll be living off those leftovers for the next week. The joys/pains of living alone – depending on how you look at it.

  • Ate Chobani! Lovin’ my winnings. I’ll be so sad when they’re gone.

  • Left work :)

See, lot’s of fun stuff!

There is a lot of talk going on about the next winter storm that is supposed to hit Oklahoma. Supposedly we’re going to get up to 4 inches of ice before it turns over and we get 5 to 12 inches of snow.

I’m hoping it’s just a bunch of hype and we just get rain. But the last time I said that I got stranded in the middle of the highway during an Oklahoma Blizzard. So I guess I’m going to take all the necessary precautions. I got some good food-age at Target tonight and I have a plan of action to be able to take my work home with me if necessary so I don’t get behind.

It will be interesting to see how it all goes down.

How does your city handle winter weather?

Here in Oklahoma the weather people freak out about for days before, during, and days after. And we don’t get that many really bad storms so no one really knows how to drive right on the bad roads so most schools, churches and some places of work shut down even if it’s just a light storm. When I was in school I loved snow days, but now that I work and have deadlines it’s a bit annoying.

Have a good night loves!

  1. That cake bite looks heavenly. You are causing me some serious chocolate cravings. :)

Up in Minnesota we are pro’s at handling the winter weather. However, now that my mom lives in Dallas, it is really entertaining to experience how they handle the cold, sleet and snow. We had snow on Christmas Eve in TX and the whole city shut down for a few days!

  2. Seriously? I pee 10 times a day, easily!

    That cake bite looks delish!

In GA, snow only happens once a year so even a flurry causes total chaos. But I kind of love the break from the norm!

  3. This is random, but I visit your blog occasionally and never realized that you’re from Oklahoma too! Personally, most Oklahoma drivers are idiots – 4 inches of snow and ice? Let’s play Nascar! Light sprinkling of rain? Let’s all drive 5 mph to be on the safe side!
Also – the average person is so not me! I peed at least 6 times before 1 PM today.
Have a great day (: -Kylee

  4. I’m in Boston and we know how to handle our snow, but even during some storms the roads can still suck! You’d think by now the state would have plows and sanders out at the first sight of a flake…but no, they wait until the middle or end of the storm. People forget how to drive too. Some people think that driving slower is better, but going the normal speed is. Glowing super slow will only cause you to get stuck and spin out. Hmm…I guess we don’t know how to handle snow…

  5. Winter weather in Victoria means a skiff of snow, school close down, the city panics, people’s driving skills go from bad to worse- it’s INSANE!

Every year we say it never snows in Victoria, yet every year we get snow and are completely shocked by it.

  6. haha well here in madison people are basically used to it, so yes they do! love chobani :) and ahhh need to get on blogger valentine shopping.

    xoxo

  7. haha! Im HOPING that it snows like crazy…since I work for UCO, I will get off work if they cancel. Im just like a kiddo in school again!

I need to make some purchases for my secret bloggy valentine. Gotta do that this week!

  8. Crazy winter weather is normal for Saskatchewan … although this week we got abnormal amounts of snow, and for the first time in 10 years the bus service was canceled.

I think you forgot to put the number in of how often people pee … I am not seeing it!

  9. Winter weather in LA means a tiny bit of rain which means every road is jammed and there are about 1 million accidents. Disaster! I hope Oklahoma isn’t hit too badly!

  10. Colorado is too good at handling bad weather…I’d like the city to shut down just once in my life. :-)

Also…4 times, honeslty?!! I am dead serious when I say that I easily pee 4 times by 7am. EASILY. I’d be willing to bet I make 20 trips to the bathroom a day.

  11. i live in wisconsin…unless you can’t move your car to drive to a bar, anything goes. yay for chobs, paella, tarjay, peeing (i would say i probs go 3-4 times) and everythang! LOVE YOUUUUUUUUU

  12. you make me laugh so hard. that pee business! i pee about 4 times a day. maybe 6 tops. but that is because i drink a gallon of water. on days i dont drink all that water i pee maybe twice or three times. crazy, right? why did i type all that? tomorrow is national chocolate cake day so getcha some. YAY FOR VALENTINE SLEUTHING!

  13. Four times? I drink a ridiculous amount of water and pee four times before I even get to work in the morning. OCD? Yes, but only four times is insane…

And as for winter weather, I’m in Michigan, so it’s a lot like Holly said. We’re used to feet of snow, so nothing really fazes us anymore (but that doesn’t mean I don’t hate it and that people still freak out and forget how to drive.)

Your secret Valentine is super lucky, I’m sure!

  14. I think they were talking about guys… surley most females are frequent visitors of the restroom… that’s why there is always a line

As far as winter goes in TX… the min it is below 60 the bring out their heavey wool jackets and got forbid it gets below 40 they would start covering all of their pipes so it won’t freeze… uh hello freezing point is below 32… lol

  15. I seriously pee 4 times before I leave the house too! I’m sure it has to do with all the water I consume.

People in Florida FREAK when it gets cold. We had an unseasonalby cold snap this winter and everyone acted like we were hit with a glacial freeze. I was happy to put some of my heavy coats to good use.

  16. Your city sounds just like Richmond! We are slated for a few inches of snow this weekend but the forecast keeps changing…. a few weeks ago we got a random 15″ of snow and the whole city shut down for days, roads were terrible, but can’t blame folks who aren’t use to snow for not knowing how to handle it I say (me being one of them!)…. hope you don’t get too mcuh wintery weather and stay warm!
