President’s Day

Good morning! Sorry it’s been so long since I last posted, but I’ve just been relishing the weekend. But the weekend isn’t over yet! I have today off for President’s Day and I’m currently hanging out around the house watching bad TV. Which is pretty much what I’ve done all weekend, but I feel no shame.

After I posted yesterday I headed out to meet up with my sister-in-law. We had brunch at one of my favorite OKC restaurants – Rococo’s. The head chef and owner is on twitter, and if you live in OKC he’s a must follow. Do so here!

We started off with the fruit place appetizer.

For my entree I had the frittata that is filled with ripe roma tomatoes, chevre cheese and fresh basil, served with breakfast potatoes and fruit.

It was a great pre-movie meal. After eating we headed to the Oklahoma Museum of Art (follow them here) to see Nine, which was good but not as fabulous as I wanted it to be.

After that I had to run to Target to get some coffee and things, then I came home and had a loving dinner.

Gnocchi with marinara sauce and cottage cheese to amp up the protein a bit. ‘Twas delish. After that I did some ellipticalling, then watched some TV and eventually put myself to bed.

This morning I woke up earlier than I would have liked so I could get my trash out, and then sat down to a lovely bowl of cereal.

Yum yum!

Right now I’m watching Friday’s episode of Ellen, which features one of my favorite musical artists Joshua Radin. Then I have big plans of cleaning the apartment and going to the gym, where I hope to try something I’ve never done before. But we’ll see how that goes…

Are you off work today? I know that Canada has their own holiday today, so many of you are off. But it seems like the American school system isn’t really celebrating President’s Day. Wassup with that?
