Back in business

Hey guys! My lack of food consumption yesterday led to a lack of posting this morning, but I’m baaack now. I fell asleep within ten minutes of my head hitting the pillow last night. Unheard of for this gal. I awoke at 2 a.m. fearing that I had missed work, but quickly returned to my slumber until around 6 a.m. this morning for a grand total of 8 hours of sleep!

I was ecstatic to be back at work today, and no I do not say that with sarcasm. As much as I needed the day off yesterday, I hated how lazy I felt. I wear a pedometer everday, and today I barely clocked in at 1,500 steps. Sad.

Productivity makes me happy! And so does being able to eat. I had a Green Monster for breakfast as usual. Oh, and I forgot to mention that while Victoria was visiting I made us both GM’s and she loved it! One more convert to the world of blended spinach :)

I had a banana for a mid-morning snack because my hunger had reappeared with a vengeance. I was happy to oblige.

Lunch was an almond butter and jelly sandwich.

I had no idea what to pack last night because I didn’t know if I’d be hungry for anything yet or not.

It turned out to be a great choice because I got to eat it in the car on the way to pick up some more smoothie materials. Gotta keep ‘em stocked up.

Later on for a snack I had an orange and a Blueberry Dannon Greek yogurt.

After trying the Strawberry Dannon a while back, I declared Chobani to be king of the flavored Greek yogurts. However, I definitely like Dannon’s blueberry version over Chobani’s, just in case you were curious.

I’m about to head out for a run, which I’m kind of nervous about considering my recent sickness. My training plan calls for two ”long run/walk days” per week to get my body used to longer mileage workouts. So today the plan is to walk two miles, run three miles, and walk two more miles. I’m hoping I have enough fuel in me to get through it.

In other news, did anyone watch House last night? The patient was a blogger and I thought the episode was really interesting. If you didn’t see it, you should definitely check it out when the post it online. If you did watch it, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

In even more other news, I found out today that I got an awesome part-time job at a new running and fitness store that is opening this month in OKC. I’m super excited about it. Some people might find it odd to get excited over the idea of working more, but I think it’s going to be really fun and will give me a chance to be around health and fitness-minded people more often.

I think the store is a really great concept and something that Oklahoma City hasn’t had up until this point. I’ll be keeping you guys updated as things progress, so local readers stay tuned!

Question:

(Totally random, but humor me) Have you ever had a blood blister? If so, does it need to be popped in order to heal? Or will it eventually go away on its own?

I’ve had this hideous thing for over a week and I’m quite frankly getting tired of looking at it. It doesn’t really even hurt anymore, it’s just more of a nuisance.

Okay I’m heading out for my run. Have a good night!
