On edge

At my “real job” I typically either have days where I can be totally in a bubble and not have to talk to anyone (besides via email of course) and days where the entire day seems to be spent in meetings.

Usually, I embrace meeting-filled days because they make the time go by faster, but lately I’ve had to lead some of these meetings. It puts me on edge! It’s not that I am afraid of public speaking, I just hate doing it unless I feell 100% knowledgeable about the subject matter.

So, needless to say, I had some major nerves today, especially since the meeting I had to lead was at the end of the day. It’s a good thing I had delicious food to distract me.

Lunch was the last of my leftover baked risotto.

Baked Risotto Primavera

I’ll miss it. It was good.

During my lunch break I had to run out and buy protein powder. I’ve been meaning to do this for over a week now, but kept putting it off because that stuff is so dang expensive.

At the health food store I picked up this vegan gem.

Everyday Gourmet Vegan Butter Pecan Cookie

I consider this to be Crap Free because there aren’t any preservatives and the sugar content isn’t too crazy, but that’s a highly subjective opinion.

This cookie was so frickin’ good. It amazes me sometimes how delicious vegan baked goods can be. If only cheese wasn’t so delicious… I might be swayed.

Well, probably not. Because then I wouldn’t be able to eat this.

Greek yogurt and peanut butter

Current favorite snack by far. So swirly.

I’m also most likely going to eat this pear on my way home because I clearly enjoy eating in the car.

Even though I don’t have to work at the running store tonight, it’s still going to be a busy evening. I have to ammend my tax return (argh), run a few errands at the mall, and make attempt #2 at running 6.5 miles. I hope I can do it!

Have you done your taxes yet?

  1. I do not miss the days of meetings after meetings, or having a meeting to discuss about what to discuss at the next meeting!

I hired a professional to do my taxes because we owe money :( and I want to make sure we get all the deductions we can!

  2. I keep MEANING to do my taxes, its just so boring that I put it off every year til the last minute. I always say Im not going to, and then I do. Oh well!

I could never go vegan simply because I cant give up cheese.

  3. I did my taxes almost the second I got them. Mine are real easy because I’m single, don’t pay rent or a mortgage, have no children…blah blah blah. So it took no time at all…I also did them so quick cause i needed money!

  4. i love yogurt too…well, i love cheese too, sorry!
regardless, that cookie looks good – u should try to “recreate” the recipe!
I also get extreme nerves when have to do those “leading” things, sucks…taxes are in the process of being done.

  5. I wish I had days where I could just close myself off and not talk to anyone at work (usually the days when I had a few too many drinks the night before lol) but at my office I am ALWAYS surrounded by people. Luckily we all get along!

  6. YES…you can do it!

and i could probs be a vegan if it wasn’t for (a) cheese and (b) yogurt. i can live without the rest, but those two are non-negotiables.

  7. You can TOTALLY do that run!! I am doing 6 miles today so think of us synching each others movements! If I were there, I’d yell at you at tell you to KEEP GOING!! Keep that in the back of your mind :)

  8. I am the same way with meetings- they stress me out and put me on edge just becase…I don’t even know. But that’s why my Tuesdays are loaded- I am fine speaking in front of people, just…RAAAAAWR.

I could totally be vegan if it wasn’t for Greek yogurt I think. Though I have yet to bake anything vegan myself that tastes as good as vegan goods made by anyone else!

Good luck with your run :D
