Last night was filled with goodies. Specifically a massage, free stuff and mass quantities of produce.
Those are three really good things, right?
I thought so too.
Remember a while back when I ordered from a co-op in Edmond, Oklahoma and got a bunch of cool stuff? Well, because of their somewhat limited pick-up time and my inability to commit I haven’t ordered it since then. Until this week.
Actually, I still couldn’t commit to picking it up, but the SIL was kind enough to do it for me. Thanks Sissy!
I got so much food, it was like Christmas. There was a lot of green stuff.
We have chard, celery, broccoli, what appears to be spinach but they call cabbage, basil and kiwiberries. Has anyone ever had kiwiberries before? I haven’t and I’m not sure what to do with them.
There was also some more colorful fare.
There are plums, pluots, bananas, apples, pears, oranges, avocadoes, carrots and an onion.
I have a lot of eating to do, so I got started right away.
Delicious.
Last but not least, the grains.
If any Oklahomies are interested in purchasing shares from this co-op, there is no membership fee – you can order when you want and skip when you want. Email me at lowandbhold at gmail dot com if you want more info.
I also opened up a fun package from a giveaway I won over at Meals and Miles.
It was a lovely package of bath goodies from Pilsbury along with a coupon to try their new product, Sweet Moments.
Lots of fun stuff including a loofah, chocolate scented foot scrub, bath salts, body lotion and shower gel. I can’t wait to try it all out!
In other news, it’s Friday ya’ll! Celebrate!
I’ll be back later to talk about running and massage. Have a good one!
Q’s:
Any recipes you guys have that would help me use up my mass quantities of produce?
Are you a bath or shower person?

I’m super interested to see what you do with those kiwiberries. I’ve never heard of them before.
That’s such an awesome haul!
I’m interested to see what I do with them too, haha. I googled them today and I’m pretty excited about them!
I’ve never heard of kiwiberries either! Love all the loot – I joined a co-op last summer – it didn’t go well. We had a cool summer and for the first four weeks, all I got was kohlrabi (which I never learned to like) and carrot bites – awful!
Aw, that’s too bad! I don’t even know what kohlrabi is, haha.
I had no idea what I was picking out, I just tried to get the freshest looking stuff and was confused by the kiwiberries. I hope they don’t suck. I had no idea what they were but came across this post:

I’m a shower person. If I’m “tub-ing it” I better be in my hot tub
in the winter i take a lot more baths. but mostly i shower.
this post is making me sing the ciara song “my goodies” – i am not sure my co-worker is appreciating that at the moment. happy weekend lady
Yep, it’s been in my head all morning too. Sorry for that.
I used to take baths when we had a fun jacuzzi tub, we don’t anymore. Good luck using all that produce, I usually make a stir fry type dish, or throw veggies in with pasta.
Oh, I had a jacuzzi tub growing up. Loved that thing. It’s a must when/if I buy a house.
Crisps! Crumbles! And caramelize them!
And… throw the veggies away.
Haha, veggie hater! I’ll keep them but an apple crisp is a good idea!
Wowsa that’s a lot of produce!! It all looks so fresh
Those are some good looking fruits and veg you got there! I could SO go for a massage right now..
We have Bountiful Baskets in AZ and I love it!!!
I’m mostly a shower kind of gal. But part of that may be due to the fact that I will embarassingly admit I don’t clean my shower nearly as much as I should… oops!
Super score!!! I’d love more info on the co-op thing. I seriously didn’t think you get grains. I thought it was all fruits and veggies. AWESOME!
Just sent it your way!
hey will you email it to me as well?
Sure, coming right up!
I’ve never seen kiwiberries before?!?!?!
I love to make ratatouille when I have lotsa veggies to use up! It’s such a flexible dish (you can seriously use whatever you got) and it tastes oh so good!

You could make soups!! You could even freeze some for later on in the winter.
You could use all the fruit in smoothies, or make crumbles out of them.
I love the packaging on that bath stuff. I am a shower girl, but when I am sick I like to have baths to warm up.
Oh god…usually when I have a ton of veggies to use up, I just roast like crazy and then eat them as a side, as a main dish (depending on the moood), in egg bakes, with a fried egg on-top, in a wrap. Maybe you could action like a modified ratatouille?

I would LOVE more info on the co-op! I’ve been researching for the last few weeks, because I want to start buying more local and organic stuff, so co-op has been an option. AND, I’m right near Edmond! I’ll send my e-mail addy. Thanks!
