Well that’s good news

I can go to one of Oklahoma’s unhealthiest restaurants, eat my fill, and not feel guilty.

Pretty epic, no?

And when I say one of Oklahoma’s unhealthies restaurants, I kid you not. The menu features fried chicken, fried okra, frito chili pie and nachos and apparently a roast beef sandwich I knew nothing about.

It’s also Oklahoma’s oldest bar. Ever heard of Eischen’s?

I grew up eating at Eischen’s, after long days at the lake, and it’s a place my family still likes to go when we get together.

I don’t even like chicken, and especially not fried chicken – but Eischen’s really can’t be beat.

I only eat there once or twice a year, so when I do I go to town and throw my guilt to the curb.

*Fingers Crossed* The forecast for my race looks pretty good this Sunday.

As long as it’s not raining or the wind’s not blowing 50 mph, that should be pretty dang near perfect! Sweet.

Even though this work week might kill me, I have Friday off this week and next week is Thanksgiving!

That doesn’t mean I won’t have to take work home with me, but it’s better to be pulling my hair out at home than doing it in this cold office.

Q: Have you had any good news lately?

  1. Good news…yes! I actually found out my department is being restructured, and I’m going to take it as good news – best case scenario is I get to do the same job and work a little less, worst case scenario is I get restructured to a new department and still work a little less…at this point, anything less than a 70+ hour week is good news in my book!

  2. I love Triple D!!!! They’ve been to a few diners in Philly that I’ve visited. My problem is when I go into a diner, no matter what they’re famous for, all I ever want to order is an omlet with hash browns, toast and bacon…

  3. I’m so excited to read your race recap!!It’s been 7 years since I’ve been to Eischen’s. The Lover and I went there right before we got married. Good times. Retta could handle the brew back then.

Not really any good news for me except that my tire didn’t blow on the Jetta. :)

  4. I’m so looking forward to some time off for Thanksgiving, too! And for good news: Meeker just texted me to say he found someone to take care of our doggie when we go out of town next week…for FREE! Hooray!

  5. THEY HAVE A ROAST BEEF SANDWICH?!?!?! I CAN EAT THERE?!?!?!? HOW DID WE NOT KNOW THIS?!?!?!?!

Much love for the Eischen’s, much love. Much jealous as well.
