Ancient Grains

Good day all! Today is the last day of my “Christmas Break” so I’m late in posting again.

Did everyone have a very merry Christmas? I did indeed. There was more food than I knew what to do with, a few surprises and lots of fun with family. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Except for maybe a good night’s sleep, which I was able to get in last night.

I awoke feeling refreshed and headed out to a morning yoga class at 3rd Street Yoga in Edmond. It was a fun and energizing class and the teacher was adorable. I wish I was able to go to more classes, but alas there’s that thing called work…

After yoga I returned some library books and picked up some groceries. It was a productive morning.

When I returned home, it was finally time for some breakfast.

I won a box of Nature’s Path Ancient Grains granola from Mrs. Janetha G. last week.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to try it out, and today was the day.

Look at all those grains! There was no way for this not to be both delicious and super filling. I had it with yogurt and half a banana.

I’m in love! There were so many textures and the crunch was perfect. As expected it was also extremely satisfying. Wonderful!

Now I am off to clean some more, perhaps do some cardio and enjoy my last day before it’s back to work!

Q’s:

If you celebrate, did you have a great Christmas?

Do you prefer your cereal/granola with yogurt, milk or dry?

  1. Clearly, it was a good Christmas! Much better than I expected.

I like my cereal with milk. If I have granola, it depends what mood I’m in…sometimes plain, sometimes in yogurt with fruit.

  2. enjoy your last day of freedom! i am back at work, but really, in the 5 hours i’ve been here, i’ve done maybe 30 minutes of work. so i don’t know if i can really count this as working, even though i most likely will on my timesheet.

hope you had a marvelous christmas – hugs and love!!!

  3. We had a faboosh Christmas. I was ready for it to be over though. There is only so much a gal can take! I still have a mess in the house. Boo.

My fave is cereal and almond milk. Enjoy your last day of vacation! :)

  4. Definitly milk! Its sooo creamy and I love drinking the milk after the cereal is gone when the milk has the few leftover crunchies in it! haha
I don’t care for yoga too much!:( I wish i did.
I’m totally sad I only have one week of break left. ahh…tragic I say.
