Sorry for complaining even more than usual yesterday. It’s just been one of those weeks, and the snow ain’t helping, but after today things should hopefully start improving.
The drive home yesterday and the drive to work this morning were intense. Lots of getting stuck and either digging myself out or having some poor, kind soul push me to higher ground.
That’s always awkward, because by the time you’re unstuck you’re driving away and can’t tell the good samaritan thank you.
So, to all those who have helped people get unstuck in the winter weather across the U.S. – know that you are appreciated!
I’ll be honest, one of the main reasons I bitch about the snow is because I’m a terrible snow driver. Well, I’m a terrible driver in general. It’s my fault, not the snow’s. Truth.
Anyways, I’m at work again, the first full day I’ve been here since Monday and it feels good to be back to the routine.
Although, it was nice to eat breakfast at home under the covers for a few days.

I got pretty obsessed with peanut butter toast and coconut while I was snowed in. There were hardly any sweets in the house, and I needed my fix. It worked quite well.
Another joyous thing – I was finally able to get the sack of groceries I had left in the work fridge during the storm. This meant I could whip up an easy butternut squash pasta dish.

I had grander plans for this dish, but I didn’t have all the ingredients for it and there was no way I was going to make it out to the grocery store so I just improvised.
Whole wheat penne, steamed butternut cubes, 2 laughing cow wedges and some diced tomatoes all topped with mozzarella cheese. It was comforting and tasty, so I’ll call it a success.
Today is going to be an interesting day. I’ve got a meeting to lead, my big briefing in front of the execs, and several other meetings interspersed throughout.
Oh, and it’s snowing again. But I’m not going to complain about that. Nope, not going to do it.
Happy Friday!
Are you a good snow driver? Good driver in general?
