Should I really blog about this?

Happy National Wine Drinking Day! Are you planning to celebrate?

The SIL just so happens to be having a girls night/wine tasting at her house tonight so I will be enjoying said holiday. Pretty excited about it.

In case you’re wondering, which you probably aren’t, my mouth is not healing quickly. It still hurts to eat most things and I’m pretty much fed up with it.

Drinking hurts less because I can get it down without too much contact to the wounded area, so I had a liquid lunch yesterday.

I sipped on this green drank and Twittered a bit, then I realized something terrible.

I had gas.

Really, really bad painful gas.

And I have an office mate, so you know what that means. I had to hold it in alllll afternoon.

Maybe you’re not supposed to blog about gas, but I’m going to.

I have no idea where it came from and why it was so severe, but it got me to thinking about the injustice of shared offices and cubicles.

How are we supposed to hold our… air… in all day long like that?! It’s unhealthy.

Sure,  you can get up occasionally and go to the bathroom or step outside, but if it’s really bad (like mine was) then you just have to sit there in misery for the sake of being polite.

Terrible.

Anyways, it was really quite crippling so there was no way I was going to make it to the gym.

Instead I enjoyed the privacy of my own apartment, did laundry, did a kickboxing workout and watched TV.

Because I fear my problems might have stemmed from a fiber OD – I kept dinner simple.

pasta with rose cream sauce

Whole wheat spaghetti (I wish I would have had regular, too much fiber!) with a rose cream sauce from Target.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Happy Friday!

If you work, do you have a shared space or your own office?

  1. Ugh, I hate that feeling. I always feel bloated for some reason. It’s one of the worst feelings in the world! I hope you are feeling better today! :)

I sit in a cubicle surrounded by other cubicles. So I don’t really have any privacy.

  2. I swear I am a little kid sometimes, but I could not stop cracking up while reading this post. I feel your pain!! I work in a corporate office, so I’m chained to a cube all day with many co-workers surrounding me. Horrible!

Thanks for the tip on today’s holiday… I will have to enjoy a glass or two to celebrate. :)

  3. Ha ha ha, since we discussed said gas yesterday, I’ll leave my comments about it off the blog.

I have my own office so I’m free to do whatever I please in it (thank goodness)!!

Cheers! Can’t wait to see you tonight!

  4. I celebrated National Wine Tasting Day early… oops! :)

I sort of cracked up about your “issues”.

And may be guilty of letting it go on the treadmill silently and just pretend it’s no big thing, even if there is someone right next to me… oops…

  5. My office is a big open area shared with 2 other people and whoever happens to walk in. I wish I had my own space.

Too much fiber is bad news. I definitely experienced that during the vegan challenge. I wasn’t brave enough to blog about it though.

  6. I get bloated a lot too when I have an overload of fiber…I do have an office to myself but I get frequent visitors so I am still very conscience of what I do! ha! My hubby is in cubicle land and he says he just goes to the bathroom to let it all out.

  7. Hahahaha I had to suffer through that when I used to share an office with two people, now I have my own cube. Like Amy, I’m also guilty of silently letting it go on the treadmill.

  8. Ugh nothing worse then clenching your cheeks all freaking day. Hopefully you let ‘er rip when you got in your ride (w/ the windows down). I hate when I have to do that especially when I run b/c you don’t know if it’s going to come slapping out of there or what!

Anyhoo, I have my own office which is SO nice. However, even when I have the door closed people always knock on it like I’m not doing anything important. I’m probably not but it’s the principle. :)

  9. I have an office. What you discussed is one of the many reasons I am thankful for that. I also keep body spray handy but when someone walks in it is a little suspicious. Oh well. Have a great weekend!

  10. girl, eveeeryone’s been there.

and I LOVE the green machine! I know it looks the nastiest, but it’s by FAR the best tasting one.

and I have my own office, however, my door is always open. so I’ve still gotta hold that stuff in! ;)

  11. That sucks about the gas!!!! Holding it in is never good! You should have went home sick :-)

I seriously just sent the hubby to the basement to get a bottle of wine after reading that first line! I am not American, but I don’t need an excuse. Let’s just say it is International Wine Drinking Day :-)
