This is a problem

Allow me to introduce you to Mr. Gas Station Froyo.

Yes, that would be my second froyo experience in under 24 hours. This is a problem.

Not because of the froyo eating. I’m down with that. It’s the paying for the froyo eating that’s problematic.

Before I left for D.C. I hadn’t spent one extranneous dollar on food or drink or any such thing in forever. My budgeting was on point.

Since returning, it seems I’ve fallen off the wagon a bit. I’m still a lot more frugal than I used to be (shopping with no purchasing, what what) but I need to re-tighten the purse strings.

Until I know for certain what my financial situation is going to be when I move, I have to keep saving like there’s no tomorrow!

So even when I wander into a gas station and see a full self service froyo station complete with Heath bar froyo (that tastes even better than last night’s froyo btw) I must resist!

The gas station froyo was actually pretty affordable, that cup along with an apple and some crackers (emergency work trip snacks) came in under $5. Not bad!

Still… no more froyo expenditures!

What’s the one thing you always end up splurging on? It used to be wine and chocolate for me, but lately I’ve got that under control… only to fall pray to froyo temptation!

Not your typical Monday

Yesterday was definitely an atypical Monday.

It started out with me driving a big SUV around instead of my usual little 4-door car.

Fact: I am not a great driver.

Fact: Large vehicles scare the crap out of me.

Fact: I still felt kind of badass in said large vehicle.

I had to take my car in for routine service. Routine service that cost almost $400. Blah. We won’t discuss that.

Work slid on by without too much abnormality, then I left and did another unusual thing.

Berri Licious Edmond

Okay, froyo is pretty typical but this was a new place that I’ve never been to before.

They had a great variety of flavors and toppings as well as baked goods and beverages. I just went with a cup ‘o froyo to ease my aching throat – red velvet and cake batter with kiwis, strawberries and blackberries.

Berri Liscious got major points for having red velvet and cake batter flavors. I’m kind of obsessed with them both.

However, I think I was more in the mood for class tart yesterday. My mistake.

Also, dairy is very bad for sinus infections… I know this. But I’m a rebel.

After the froyo I did another ususual thing – I cancelled my gym membership.

I still have access to the gym until the end of April, but I felt very sad to cancel. I get unnaturally attached to gyms and tend to talk about them like they were ex-boyfriends.

I have two favorite ex-gyms and I miss them dearly. Sniff. I’ll miss the latest ex too, but it’s time to move on. I just wasn’t feeling it anymore.

Post-gym cancellation, I hit up the pharmacy to get the meds my doctor had called in for me. He gave me quite the cocktail.

It definitely not typical that I took four pills before dinner, but I was desperate to feel better. This week is going to be rough enough without the addition of sickness.

Even stranger than the pill poppage was the fact that I actually read the instructions to make sure I took them correctly.

I usually don’t pay close attention to the drug instructions because the warned side effects always freak me out, but I figured since I was about to take four pills I’d better make sure nothing was going to kill me.

For the record, nothing did, but I don’t feel all that much better and my stomach was upset afterwards. Antibiotics are lame.

I did get a slight jolt of feel-betterness later in the evening, so I decided to dance my ass off - definitely not my usual Monday workout.

I wanted to get a little activity in, but nothing too strenuous, so I thought the dance workout would suffice. It was alright, but personally I’d like to keep my ass…

After that I did some lower body leg work, a bit of abs and called it good.

An unappetizing dinner of veggies and eggs ensued, followed by a shower and then a nose dive into bed.

I slept like a baby… perhaps the most unusual thing of all.

I still don’t feel great and I have a six-hour drive to the middle of nowhere with a coworker to look forward to this afternoon, but let’s not talk about that. It’s too terrible to even think about.

Do you read the instructions before you take medication?
