Saturday morning started out innocently with an early yoga class and a run. I was feeling fine because of a great conversation I’d had with my supervisor on Friday. Things on the work front are finally on the up and up and I aired all my grievances. It was such a relief.
Then the prodigal traveler returned!
My friend Taylor just returned from a two-week European cruise. We met for lunch at Upper Crust so I could hear all the details. As expected, she had a fabulous life-changing trip and I was jealous.
Please note how well she can rock a scarf. It’s a talent, really. She brought me a scarf back from Istanbul. I’m hoping I can pull it off as well as she can.
I convinced her that she was still technically on vacation, so we had booze with lunch. It was a great idea.
With our booze, we each had a farmer’s market salad.
It was very good, even though I was not pleased with the blue cheese involvement. I do not like blue cheese.
We shared a Greek pie with chicken, olives, feta and other Greek-ish things.
Don’t let my smile fool you, it wasn’t great. It should have been but the olives had an odd aftertaste that kind of ruined it for me.
Somehow, after lunch, we ended up at a golf course.
We didn’t really play, we were just golf groupies, although I did make the guys let me tee off a few times. My skills need some work.
The rest of the time was spent in the golf cart.
Photo shoot:
It was windy.
Note the outfit change. I was in a dress before and you just can’t wear a dress at the golf course.
You wear shorts and you drink beer. That’s how it’s done. The beer may or may not have altered my picture-taking abilities.
I don’t know what I was going for with that one.
Golf was fun, but also windy and hot.
Everyone had plans to go out and celebrate a friend’s birthday, but first I needed a shower and a nap.
Then a burrito. From Taco Bell. It was the only thing that was open that late. It happens.
Eventually I made it over to Baker’s Street. I had two sets of friends to mingle with and yes, more beers to drink. I didn’t take any pictures, but I guess someone else did with my camera.
I was away from the table at this time, but my purse made the photo op.
Then I returned.
Another outfit change. Counting yoga and running clothes that morning, I changed clothes five times on Saturday. Not cool. You’d think I was a celebrity or something.
The night ended very late, and I woke up not feeling well but I had to work at the part-timer. This is why I don’t usually wear my party pants. Hangovers suck… but sometimes they’re warranted.
I feel much better today, and apparently it’s Monday, so there are things to do. Sigh.
Do you golf? I played in high school and play with my family occasionally, but I’m not very good.
Ever been to Europe? I have not and it needs to happen very soon.
