Who puts fries on a salad?

I left work yesterday determined to spend some time outside. After all the  babbling I did about not being a workaholic (thank you all SO much for your thoughtful responses by the way), it seemed appropriate.

My first thought was to grab a drink somewhere and sit outside… but the paycheck issue interfered.

The next thought was to take a walk, but I was hungry and I’d already worked out so a walk seemed like a lot of work.

Instead, I took to the balcony.

I love my balcony, especially on breezy nights as the sun is going down. It’s so peaceful.

And peaceful is good considering my thoughts and emotions are as mixed up as the ingredients of this salad.

Spinach, sweet potato fries, heirloom tomatoes and Goddess dressing – it made no sense whatsoever. Who puts fries on a salad? I didn’t care though. I like things that don’t make sense.

Well, some things. Not these kind of things.

Instead of going furniture shopping at stores, I decided to order everything online because I didn’t want to wait until I had time to shop. This means I have to assemble everything.

I’m working my way up in complexity. First a lamp, then an armchair, and now two barstools that apparently you have to be a carpenter to assemble.

The directions made no sense, but I eventually figured it out while catching up on Khloe and Lamar. I really hope those two crazy kids make it. I like them.

I found two screws lying on the floor under the stools this morning, meaning someone will probably fall perilously to their doom out of one or both of them at some point. I hope they like me enough not to sue.

Only two more boxes left to unpack until my bookshelf comes! This means I can actually enjoy the weekend instead of unpacking the whole time. I’m pretty excited.

Tonight, I’m going with Kelly (who I met last weekend and is Southern and awesome) to a food/wine event of some sort. I’m not sure exactly what it’s about, but when it involves food and wine I don’t care – I’m just in.

What’s your favorite thing to do when the weather is nice?

Are you skilled at furniture assembly?
