All in the name of a good party

Good morning all! I hope you had lovely weekends. Mine was great. The barbecue went well. I ended up going out with work friends for a going away on Friday night, so we were in a bit of a rush getting ready on Saturday but it all came together.

As long as you have ample drink – you can’t go wrong. Am I right?

The cups are hiding my drink of choice for the evening – Jose Cuervo Light Margarita – aka the poor gal’s SkinnyGirl.

Delicious. There was also food, of course. We had enough chips to feed an army. No idea why we thought we needed so many.

There was also potato salad and a Greek pasta salad I made, which was a huge hit.

I also made taco dip, at Kace’s suggestion, and people loved it. So good.

It was hot and I was worn out from all the preparation, but I put on my hostess face and made the best of it.

At least I didn’t have to slave over the hot grill. That was left to the men. I didn’t end up eating any of the meat, but we had hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken hot dogs, chicken sausages and tandoori chicken. Oh, and grilled corn.

After everyone finished eating (we had way too much food), we just hung out, listened to music/danced and met new friends.

The night ended with a swim in the pool, with our clothes on. Why no one wore bathing suits in still a mystery…

I stayed up way too late and didn’t get home until Sunday morning. Therefore, yesterday was spent either on the couch or in bed. I never even changed out of my pajamas.

Oh well, all in the name of a good party!

What’s your favorite cookout food? I usually just end up picking at the sides all night.

  1. I love burgers, brats and dogs! But sometimes, if I’m lucky, your bro will spoil me with the end-all-be-all of cookout food- BABY BACK RIBS and CORN ON THE COB!! And he’ll even season mine with Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey BBQ Sauce b/c that is my favorite.

Cookouts are so much fun. I’m glad you had a good time!

  2. I’m glad that your cookout went great! All of the food looks delicious! :) My favorite cookout foods are hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, macaraoni salad and of course chips and dip.

  3. Yes glad you liked it! It’s addicting. Be prepared to bring it to everything : ) Looks like SOOO much fun. Nothing beats summer BBQs!

  4. Well girl, you look like a fabulous (and stunning!) hostess. As for cookout foods, I love grilled vegetables and potatoes. I’ve never grilled corn, but now that you mention it, it sounds fantastic!

  5. I don’t think you can have enough chips at a bbq! I’ve been craving a brat like crazy lately- I might have to invite some people over and grill them up! Looks like you had a great party- even though prep is always killer. ;)
