You may be wondering why I randomly posted about germs yesterday? Other than the fact that I’ve been meaning to rant about that for awhile, it was because I’m swamped with work yet again, leaving very little time for the usual blogging.
I don’t mind busy days, but if I’m going to be that busy I’d appreciate a salary that at least covered my monthly bills. That, however, is neither here nor there.
Actually it is here, because it leads to the other reason I haven’t had anything interesting to post about.
I have negative monies right now, so I’ve been eating very… creatively. Breakfast this morning was some baby carrots I forgot I had in the fridge. Yesterday is was a sugar cookie.
Lunch has been plain peanut butter sandwiches. No jelly.
Dinner has been microwave nachos. I have a huge bag of tortilla chips that I forgot to take to the cookout Saturday so I’ve been nacho-ing it up. Just cheese and salsa though. I have no other toppings.
It’s all for good reason though, I have to save money so I can party it up in Atlantic City this weekend. Priorities.
I’m really thinking that after the next paycheck I get, I should be back in semi-solid financial shape.
The problem has been that my rent has been due four or five days before I get paid and there is no grace period. This means I have to pay my rent two weeks early to ensure I actually have enough money to cover it and don’t spend it on happy hours and cheese (two of my biggest expenditures).
This means that after I pay it, I have no money until I get paid again. And then that paycheck covers all non-rent bills. But whatever, I make it work. Big city living is worth it.
I knew that moving away from such an affordable city (Oklahoma City) to one of the most expensive cities in the U.S. would be an adjustment, and I was prepared for it. I’d honestly rather be constantly broke and living where I want, than flush with cash and wishing I lived somewhere else. Maybe that’s just me though.
Anyways, work… very busy this week. But after today things should return to a more manageable pace. I’ll try to be back then with all kinds of interestingness.
